Frankfurt VPS hosting in Germany
Frankfurt is the German location, and FRA-01 is inside the city. Choose it for users in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Plans in Frankfurt
Prices in USD, excluding taxes. A 12-month term lowers the monthly price by 10%.
A large exchange city with no coast
FRA-01 stands at Heinrich-Lanz-Allee 47 in Frankfurt, and Leaseweb names Iron Mountain Data Centers as its partner there. Do not confuse it with FRA-14 at Eschborner Landstrasse 100, which Leaseweb describes as NTT's main site in the Rhein-Main region. The VPS configurator offers FRA-01, so that is where your server runs.
21.47 Tbit/s
The record DE-CIX reported for its Frankfurt exchange on 14 October 2026, during UEFA Champions League matches. It says almost 1,100 networks are connected there.
Since 1995
DE-CIX says its Frankfurt exchange was founded in 1995. It also says access is available in over 30 data centers.
76 sites
The Frankfurt Chamber of Commerce (IHK) reported 76 data center sites in the FrankfurtRheinMain region in 2024, 55 of them in the city. That is about 30 percent of all German data centers. Its release is dated 29 December 2025.
No coast
Frankfurt is inland, so it is not a cable-landing city. TeleGeography's German landing points are on the North Sea, the Baltic and Lake Constance, such as Sylt, Rostock and Konstanz.
For a German-speaking audience
Frankfurt is a natural choice for an audience in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Central and Eastern Europe come next: Leaseweb's FRA-01 page points to the site's proximity to that region. An audience further west may be closer to Amsterdam or London.
City facts describe the place, not this service, and we claim no connection to any exchange or cable named here. Figures with no date were read in November 2026. Sources: DE-CIX record, DE-CIX Frankfurt, About DE-CIX, IHK Frankfurt, TeleGeography, Leaseweb.

Before you choose Frankfurt
Is a VPS at FRA-01 connected to DE-CIX?
We do not claim that. DE-CIX is the city's large exchange, and its numbers on this page describe Frankfurt, not this service. To see how traffic reaches FRA-01, run a traceroute from your own network to the test IP, or look up a route on Leaseweb's looking glass.
Frankfurt or Amsterdam for users in Central and Eastern Europe?
Start with Frankfurt, which is further east than Amsterdam. Then confirm it. The plans are the same in Amsterdam, and so is the 30 TB allowance, so let a test from your users' networks decide.
Does a German server make my project GDPR compliant?
No location can do that by itself, and we make no compliance claim for this one or any other. The fact we can give you is where the hardware is: FRA-01, in Frankfurt. What that means for your project is a question for your own legal adviser.
